Discus

so in terms of the political model, looking at it crudely, simply, an stupidly, we discussed the following classes:
1) the bourgeois (we rarely if ever are in their company - a tiny tiny minority)
2) the pitit-bourgeois (see the Laynes, taxi-drivers, middle managers, shop-keepers, the real middle classes)
3) the peasantry (a tiny group in most advanced economies)
4) the lumpen proletariate (or 'dangerous class')
5) the prolotariate (often mistakenly or more likely deliberately, for very good reason, referred to the middle class or middle england etc. in the media, not some sentimental category with cloth caps etc.)
2, 3 and 4 often supported reactionary regimes, fascism, or totalitarian gevernments etcc. in different ways, individualistic, have a lot in common with eachother
5s are not necessarily poorer than 2, 3, 4. another important and overlooked point. impoverished classes do not struggle: see pathetic attempts in ireland in mid 1800s for example.
