We start from a position where our staff members have a strong commitment to teaching and research and real strengths in both.We combine close and important links to our local community with a growing international reputation. This gives us an exciting and challenging mission - especially for a small university - to develop the three corners of our academic triangle: delivering an excellent learning experience for our students, enhanced by interaction with internationally recognised, relevant research, and linked to innovative support for local companies and engagement with schools and the community, involving students and staff in raising aspirations and attainment.
